(Emmetsburg)– A head-on crash Thursday on a bridge on Highways 4 and 18 west of Emmetsburg sent one person to the hospital.
The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office says Eric Pelzer of Emmetsburg was westbound when he lost control of a 2004 Ford. Deputies say the vehicle slid into the path of an eastbound 2004 Dodge Dakota driven by Shawn Krause of Emmetsburg.
Pelzer was taken by ambulance to Palo Alto County Hospital. There was no immediate word on his condition or the nature of his injuries. No injuries were reported to Krause.
Both vehicles were totaled.
The crash took place around 7:20 a.m.
The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by the Emmetsburg ambulance, Emmetsburg Police Department and the Emmetsburg Fire Department.
