(Pocahontas)– A head-on collision Thursday on Highway 4 about six miles north of Pomeroy claimed the life of a Colorado man.
The Iowa State Patrol says 31-year-old Darwin Rosales Castillo of Westminster, Colorado was driving a 2005 Subaru northbound when he crossed the center line and collided with a southbound 2024 Ford Explorer driven by 65-year-old Ronald Meyer of Pocahontas.
Rosales Castillo died in the crash; Meyer was injured in the crash but apparently wasn’t taken to a hospital. Troopers say Rosales Castillo wasn’t wearing a seatbelt.
The collision took place shortly after 12 noon.
