(Rock Rapids)– A head on collision Thursday in Lyon county claimed a life.
The Iowa State Patrol says 71-year-old Carol Fliear of Matlock was driving a 20“16 Ford Taurus eastbound on Highway 9. Troopers say the vehicle crossed the centerline and collided head on with a 2007 Freightliner semi driven by 64-year-old Gregory Krieger of Sibley.
Fliear was taken by ambulance to the Rock Rapids hospital where she was pronounced dead. No injuries were reported to Krieger.
The collision took place a little after 12:30 pm.
