(Spencer)– Serious injuries were reported in a head-on collision Sunday evening in Spencer. Police say 18-year-old Lacy Seymour of Spencer was eastbound in the 1600 block of East 4th Street when her vehicle crossed the center and travelled into the opposite lane of traffic. Officers say John Rydell of Spencer was westbound and swerved to avoid Seymour’s vehicle, but the two collided anyway.
Seymour was taken by ambulance to Spencer Hospital and was later transferred by air to a Sioux Falls hospital. Rydell was treated for minor injuries.
The collision took place around 6:30 pm and police say alcohol may have been a factor.
