(Undated)– A representative of U.S. Senator Tom Harkin will be making the rounds in several northwest Iowa counties early next month.
Harkins aide, Nathan Vanderplaats, will host a series of “listening posts” in the region August 3rd through the 5th.
Vanderplaats will meet with Cherokee Area Economic Development representatives at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, August 3rd at the Cherokee city hall.
He’ll be making stops Thursday, August 4th in Sioux, O’Brien and Clay counties. Vanderplaats will hold a roundtable discussion at 9:30 that morning with Hawarden Community Development officials at the Hawarden city hall.
He’ll will then meet with representatives of Northwest Iowa Development and the Sheldon Chamber of Commerce at 12:30 that afternoon.
From there he’ll travel to Spencer for a meeting at 2:30 p.m. with representatives of the Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation.
Vanderplaats will then make a stop Friday, August 5th at 8:00 a.m. at the Dickinson county courthouse in Spirit Lake.
From there he’ll travel to Sibley for a meeting with representatives of the Osceola County Economic Development Commission at 10:00 a.m.
