(Estherville)—Charges have been filed against an Estherville woman in connection with an incident in a grocery store.
Estherville police says they were called shortly after 1:00 p.m. Wednesday to the parking lot of the Hy-Vee store after getting a report of an intoxicated woman who was acting strangely in front of the store. The woman had left by the time police arrived, but officers were given a description of the vehicle she was in and tracked her down as she was entering the Fareway parking lot. Officers told the woman to stop as she got out of the vehicle, but she refused to do so and went inside the store. Officers followed her into the store where they made contact with her. The woman resisted arrest, kicking and scratching an officer. She was eventually placed under arrest and was physically removed from the store.
The suspect, identified as 37-year-old Marcy Ross of Estherville, was booked into the Emmet county jail on charges of operating while intoxicated…1st offense, serious assault on a peace officer, aggravated assault on a peace officer, and interference with official acts causing injury. She’s being held on a cash or surety bond of $21,450.
