Estherville –
The region served by Iowa Lakes Community College will benefit from a grant announced last week by the U.S. Department of Labor.
The statewide initiative is known as the Iowa-Advanced Manufacturing or I-AM: A talent success strategy for the 21st Century Workforce.
The grant totals nearly 13 million dollars for all 15 community colleges in Iowa.

owa Lakes officials say the grant is designed to help people train for advanced manufacturing jobs, specifically in welding and robotics. T
he new programs are expected to be inplemented in early October.
While the totals are not yet set, approximately $700,000 is expected to be awarded to Iowa Lakes Community College.
