Grand Marshalls Selected For Pioneer Days Parade

(Milford)—Mick Noteboom and Nolan Van Berkum have been named Grand Marshalls of this year’s Pioneer Days Parade in Milford. The Milford Commercial Club made the announcement today (Thurs.)

The two men are playing key roles in a $600,000 storefront renovation project in downtown Milford through a no-interest, forgivable loan program made possible by Milford Municipal Utilities, United Community Bank and Milford Development, Incorporated…a nonprofit community development corporation. The program got its start in 2011.

Noteboom, who’s 83-years-old, has lived in Milford 58 years. He retired from Midstates Buildings, Incorporated of Spencer where he worked 26 years as senior project manager/estimator. He and his wife Karleen have four children and 10 grandchildren.

Van Berkum, who’s 43, has lived in Milford since 1991. He also worked at Midstates Buildings and is currently employed with C & H Construction in Spirit Lake. He and his wife Missy have one daughter.

Pioneer Days in Milford will be held Saturday, July 27th. The parade will begin at 11:00 that morning.
