(Des Moines)– Governor Kim Reynolds announced at a press conference this (Sun.) afternoon she’s filed a request for an expedited Presidential Disaster Declaration for a number of counties in northwest Iowa severely impacted by flooding…
Reynolds didn’t specify the nine counties that were included in the federal request.
Reynolds says she took an aerial tour of the flood zones Saturday. She says the extent of the flooding is major, with significant amounts of cropland also completely underwater. She says for most of the impacted areas, river levels surpassed those of 1993, topping out at historic levels.
