Governor Branstad Selects Spirit Lake Resident To Serve On Public Information Board

November 22, 2014

(Des Moines)– A Spirit Lake resident is one of nine people appointed by Governor Terry Branstad to serve on the state’s newly formed Public Information Board.

Jo Martin of Spirit Lake is among those appointed by the Governor to serve on the board that was established in the last session of the Iowa Legislature under Senate File 430. The measure ensures that Iowans have open, transparent government at all levels.

The board will investigate complaints against any governmental body that is reported to be not in compliance with the state open meetings and records laws.
