(Spirit Lake)– The annual fundraising campaign is underway for the Good Neighbors Fund of Dickinson County. That word from Chairman Luke Donnenwerth…
“The goal this year is a record for us. It’s $100,000 and that starts here in October and that runs through April of 2026. You’ll start to see fliers show up in your mailboxes and a breakdown of where those funds are going. This year we’re going to be supporting 21 local nonprofit agencies here in Dickinson county to make up that $100,000 goal.”
Donnenwerth says the Good Neighbors Fund basically serves as a clearinghouse for the organizations they benefit…
“We’re a nonprofit and we accept applications each year from local nonprofits, so essentially what we do is we’re a collection point so if you do want to support many different agencies in the area, then you write a check to the Good Neighbor Fund that those funds are split between all the agencies we support. We receive applications from those groups in August of each year and then raise the money over October to April timeframe and that money will get distributed in April of 2026, so that’s how the process works.”
Donnenwerth adds that if you would your donation to go to one organization in particular, you should note that on your check.
