Good Neighbor Fund Donations Lagging

November 22, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– The Good Neighbor Fund of Okoboji and Spirit Lake say donations to the agency are lagging well behind normal.

Spokesman Curt Johnson tells KUOO news they’ve only raised about 20 percent of the funds they’ve historically raised at this point in the campaign in the past. This year’s goal is $80,000.

Johnson says the Good Neighbor Fund is vital to the 15 agencies that rely on it each year for atleast a portion of their funding.

Donations to the Good Neighbor Fund may be mailed to P.O. Box 454, Spirit Lake, Iowa…51360. They may also be dropped off during regular business hours at Bank Midwest locations in Spirit Lake and Okoboji.

Johnson says they hope to conclude the fundraising campaign by the end of the year.
