Glacial Trail Scenic Byway Stakeholder Meeting

(Primghar)– An informational meeting for stakeholders of the Glacial Trail Scenic Byway will be held at 5:00 p.m. this Thursday (April 26th) at the Prairie Heritage Center in O’Brien county. A light meal will be served followed by a program recognizing volunteers. The new Glacial Trail Scenic Byway sign will then be unveiled, with the stakeholder meeting to follow. It will consist of presentations by Amy Crouch of the Nature Convservancy; Julie Schmidt, Project Manager for the Byway Corridor Management Plan; and Drew Hage, the new Glacial Trail Scenic Byway Coordinator. Hage will give an update on progress of recent projects concerning the byway and the Iowa Byways Program.

Anyone interested in the Glacial Trail Scenic Byway project is urged to attend Thursday’s event.

The 36-mile scenic byway encompasses an area adjoined by Buena Vista, Cherokee, Clay and O’Brien counties and the Little Sioux River valley. It was designated an Iowa State Scenic Byway in 1998.
