Georgia Resident Charged In Southwest Minnesota Stabbing

November 19, 2024 Steve Schwaller

(Mountain Lake, Mn.)– A Georgia man has been arrested and charged in connection with a stabbing Monday in southwest Minnesota.

Police in Mountain Lake say they were called a little after 10:00 am to a report of a stabbing at a convenience store in that city. Police say the victim, who’s also from Georgia, fled into the store after being stabbed in the head. They learned the suspect, Crisinco Timothy Franks of Georgia, had left the scene in cargo box truck. Authorities in Watonwan county located the vehicle a short time later at a rest stop near St. James.

Franks was taken into custody without incident and was booked into jail on a charge of 2nd degree assault. The victim was taken to the Windom Hospital and was treated and released.

Authorities say the incident is still under investigation.
