Future Of Carbon Pipeline May Be Up To Towns & Counties

(Undated)– A county attorney is asking the state of Iowa to allow local control over the permits for carbon capture facilities. Hardin County Attorney Darrell Meyer says the facilities are not part of the pipeline itself and should come under local ordinances and permitting.

The proposed Summit Carbon Solutions pipeline would move carbon dioxide from ethanol plants in Iowa and other states into a storage facility in North Dakota.
