November 22, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– The upcoming month of October has been designated “Good Neighbor Month”. That word from Curt Johnson, Chairman of the Good Neighbor Fund Committee.

Johnson tells KUOO news they’ll be focusing their fundraising drive throughout the month, with the hope of raising 77-thousand dollars.

Letters announcing the start-up of this year’s fund drive went out earlier in the week.

The Good Neighbor Fund benefits the Iowa Great Lakes Area Chapter of the American Red Cross; Camp Foster/Bedell YMCA; CAASA; Cherish Center; Discovery House; Echo Plus; the Humane Society of Northwest Iowa; Dickinson County Kinship; Lakes Area Senior Citizens; Lakota Girl Scout Council; Mid-America Council of Boyscouts; Timeout Nursery; Upper Des Moines Opportunity; the Voluntary Action Center and the Preschool Art Program.
