(Worthington)-A special concert is on tap in Worthington Saturday night. KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
The Friends of the Auditorium will present Simple Gifts: The Music of the Holidays 20th Anniversary Tour Saturday evening at Memorial Auditorium in Worthington.
Managing Director Tammy Makram says the show features award-winning musicians. “Simple Gifts is 3 female vocalists that are award-winning Minnesota Music Hall of Fame vocalists. Along with that, there’s Laura MacKenzie who is a Celtic wind player. There’s a percussionist and then, Billy McLaughlin who plays guitar beautifully, and the whole show put together is just fantastic.”
She notes that the program includes visual effects. “It’s one of those shows that is not only musically wonderful, but they set the stage beautifully. So, it’s a treat the eyes and the ears.”
She adds that there are several ways to purchase tickets. “Tickets can always be purchased on our website friendsoftheauditorium.com. Also, our Box Office is open from 9-1 Monday through Friday. You can stop in or you can call.”
The concert will start at 7 o’clock Saturday night, with a social hour starting at 6.
