(Okoboji)-The Friends of Lakeside Lab Speaker Series will get underway Tuesday night. KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
The Friends of Lakeside Lab will host the Friend’s Science Seminar Series on Tuesday evenings at Iowa Lakeside Laboratory.
The first talk in the Series will feature Aquatic Biologist Dr. Mark Edlund, who has taught at Lakeside for many years.
Edlund says, he’s be speaking about Diatoms and the Lakeside Legacy. “I’m going to talk a little bit about how our class has been run all these years, and what we’re really trying to do in reaching the students. But then what I really want to do is talk about some of the more recent stuff that we’ve been working on at the Lab, and then also, talk about one of the things that’s come out of all the work that we’ve done at Lakeside, which is a web page that is really the most important web page in the world for Diatoms, and it’s accessible to everyone. It’s called diatoms.org is the website, and it’s called Diatoms of North America.”
The Science Seminar Series begins at 7 o’clock at Mahan Hall on the Lakeside Lab Campus Tuesday night and is free and open to the public.
