Former Everly City Councilman Sentenced On Marijuana Charge

(Spencer)– A former Everly city councilman charged with possession of marijuana must pay a fine and have his driver’s license suspended.

46-year-old Stephen Rank was sentenced Monday in Clay County District Court.

Rank stepped down from the council several days after his arrest May 11th, saying the matter was becoming a “distraction” for the council.

Rank says he has Crohn’s Disease and was using marijuana to treat it.
