Former Armstrong Police Chief Sentenced

(Armstrong)– A former Armstrong Police Chief has been sentenced as part of an investigation into corruption involving several other former city officials.

47-year-old Craig Merrill entered an Alford plea on two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon. He entered the plea just as his trial was to get underway several weeks ago.

Merrill Tuesday received a deferred judgement and will serve two years of probation.
