Flags In Iowa To Be Flown At Half Staff Friday Through Monday

November 22, 2014

(Des Moines)– Governor Terry Branstad has ordered all flags in Iowa be flown at half-staff from 5:00 p.m. Friday (Sept. 9th) until 8:00 a.m. Monday (Sept. 12th) in honor of Iowa service members who lost their lives while on active duty since September 11th, 2001.

The Governor’s directive applies to all U.S. and state flags under control of the state of Iowa.

Individuals, businesses, schools, municipalities, counties and other government subdivisions are encouraged to fly the flag at half-staff during those times as well.
