(Emmetsburg)– Iowa Lakes Community College has announced the first four graduates of its newly established Commercial Driver’s License, or CDL, training program at the Emmetsburg Campus. College officials say all four successfully completed the program with a 100 percent passage rate, certifying them as Class A Commercial Drivers.
The ILCC program was supported in part by a $240,000 Future Ready Iowa Grant to help address the growing demand for commercial drivers in the region. The program utilizes two truck and trailer combinations and a state-of-the-art simulator. Students also engage in practical driving sessions in a controlled environment.
Iowa Lakes is also integrating the CDL Program with its existing offerings including Agriculture, Construction Technology, Farm Equipment and Diesel Technology, and Wind Energy and Turbine Technology.
