(Sibley)– An Osceola County secondary roads facility in Sibley was damaged by fire Saturday. Sibley Fire Chief Ken Huls says they were called around noon Saturday and encountered smoke coming from the building’s garage doors when they arrived.
Huls says the fire started in the engine compartment of one of the trucks and spread to the ceiling where it got into some insulation, resulting in a lot of smoke. He says two other trucks in the building were also damaged.
Huls says the trucks had just returned after having been out on the roads that morning.
Damage to the trucks and the building’s contents was estimated at over one million dollars.
No injuries were reported.
Fire departments from Ashton and Little Rock assisted. Firefighters were on the scene about four hours Saturday.
