(Spencer)– Spencer firefighters spent more than seven hours Thursday battling a fire at the city’s tree dump.
They were called to the scene at 3300 210th Avenue a little after 11:30 am and found a well-established fire burning in the center of a pile of tree stumps. The city of Spencer’s Street Department assisted in pulling the pile apart with two loaders so the fire could be put out. Firefighters finally left the scene a little after 7:00 pm.
The site was temporarily closed as a result of the fire. It has since re-opened. No injuries were reported.
