Fire Damages Trailer House In Estherville

(Estherville)– No injuries were reported in a fire this (Monday) morning in a trailer house in Estherville.

Estherville firefighters were called around 7:00 am to 2302 3rd Avenue South lot 97. Fire Chief Travis Sheridan says firefighters quickly knocked down the fire through a window and made entry into the structure. He says the fire was under control within 25 minutes of firefighters arriving.

Sheridan says it appears the fire started near the furnace. He says the cause is under investigation.

The American Red Cross is assisting the owner of the home and her two children with alternative living arrangements.

The Estherville Fire Department was assisted by the Wallingford Fire Department, Estherville Ambulance, Estherville Police Department, Emmet County Sheriff’s Office, the Emmet County Dispatch Center and Iowa Lakes Community College.
