(Sheldon)– No injuries were reported in a fire Friday evening that damaged a building on the north side of Sheldon.
Fire Chief Brad Hindt says they were called to 520 North 2nd Avenue in Sheldon a little after 7:00 pm and found flames coming through the roof. He says firefighters made entry and quickly knocked the fire down and checked to make sure it hadn’t spread. Hindt says it’s believed the fire was caused by the chimney of a wood burner.
The Sanborn Fire Department, Sheldon Community Ambulance Team, Sheldon police, the O’Brien County Communication Center and MidAmerican Energy provided assistance.
Firefighters were on the scene several hours.
