Fire Damages An Estherville Restaurant

March 20, 2025 Steve Schwaller

(Estherville)– Fire has damaged an Estherville restaurant.

The Estherville Fire Department was called to Hardee’s at 1736 Central Avenue a little before 5:30 am this (Thurs.) morning after getting a report of fryer fire. Employees activated a fire suppression system prior to firefighters arriving. Assistant Fire Chief Brian Mack then arrived on the scene and used an extinguisher to put out the rest of the fire in the restaurant itself. However, flames had already spread into an exhaust system and went through the roof. Firefighters extinguished the remaining flames and checked for any other possible extension of the fire. They also ventilated the building.

The Estherville Fire Department was on the scene about an hour. The Wallingford Fire Department assisted on the scene along with the Estherville Police Department and Estherville Ambulance.

No injuries were reported.
