(Sheldon)– Fire early this (Monday) morning at an apartment house in Sheldon claimed a life.
Firefighters were called a little before 1:00 am to 219 8th Street in Sheldon and found heavy smoke and fire coming out of the exterior, which prevented them from entering. Fire departments from Sanborn and Hospers also responded for mutual aid.
Authorities say one person was later found deceased in the building. The victim’s identity hasn’t been released pending notification of relatives.
There’s been no word on a probable cause of the fire.
