Final Plans Made For 2022 Dickinson County Fair

July 01, 2022 Steve Schwaller

(Spirit Lake)– Final plans are being made for this year’s Dickinson County Fair. Sue Boettcher of ISU Extension and Outreach Dickinson County says this year’s event will be held July 15th-21st at the fairgrounds in Spirit Lake…

“It isn’t just for 4-H families, it’s for all families. We want everybody to come out to the fair. But we want to highlight something especially something new we’re doing this year, and that’s Saturday, Family Night 5:00 to 8:00. We’ve got some fun activities going on.”

A food truck round-up will be among some of the things taking place for Family Night, Saturday, July 16th…

“And that will be out here in front of the Expo Building. And then we’re going to have Family Night activities and games from 5:00 until 8:00. There will be some different local businesses with some booths set up and I heard there’s going to be some cotton candy at one of them, so, yeah, some fun games for families to do. We’re going to have Touch A Truck, that’s kind of new. We’re going to have, you know, maybe hopefully like a fire truck, and some other big trucks that they can come out and the kids can check out. And then of course all of our exhibit buildings will be open and they can walk around and see the livestock and see all of our static exhibits. So it’s just a fun time for the family to come out.”
