(Spencer)– Final numbers are coming in from this year’s Clay County Fair powered by SMU. Fair officials put total attendance at 297,999. They say 14,549 attended various grandstand shows. There were 790 4-H and FFA exhibitors from 52 counties across Iowa and Minnesota.
Preliminary fairgoer spending on food, beverages, specialty concessions and carnival rides totaled a little more $3.3 million breaking the previous record set in 2023. 458 unique commercial exhibitors, concessionaires and vendors from 37 states were part of this year’s fair including 150 ag-related vendors.
When it came to livestock, fair officials say there were 1,319 exhibitors that entered open-class livestock and non-livestock competitions with a combined 10,059 total entries.
