Filing Period Now Open For June 4th Primary Election

(Spirit Lake)– The filing period for those looking to run in the June 4th Primary Election opened Monday and runs through March 22nd. Jordan Moyer oversees elections for the Dickinson County Auditor’s Office. She says a number of county positions will be on the ballot…

“We have the county auditor, county sheriff, we have supervisors districts 3 and 5, and also this time we have county attorney that is filling a vacancy due to an open position that was appointed and since it was in between terms, they do have to run as a vacancy to be officially an elected official.”

Moyer says candidacy papers are available at the Auditor’s Office…

“We have a packet for everybody, we have a candidate’s guide for filing as well as any questions you may have, the amount of signatures that you need, a what not. Just so you know with the different positions that are open there’s different rules as far as what you can do for your signatures.”

Again the filing deadline is March 22nd.
