FEMA Winding Down Temporary Housing Program For Spencer Flood Victims

December 05, 2025

(Spencer)– Another chapter in Spencer’s flood recovery efforts is coming to a close. City Manager Kevin Robinson says the remaining victims who have been living in temporary facilities established by FEMA will soon be transitioning to something a little more permanent…

“Met with FEMA related to disaster housing on the temporary side. They’ll wind down that program. At the conclusion of December all participants who are still displaced using that program will be placed in their next permanent setting. So whether that’s a rental property or a home that they moved into. At the beginning of the month we had eight active cases and at the end of the month all have plans to be placed. So we appreciate everybody’s patience and support helping them, all of the displaced people, since the flood of 2024.”

Robinson made his comments while giving an update at Monday’s Spencer City Council meeting.
