(Undated)– If you have family treasures that were heavily damaged or destroyed in the flood, you may want to think twice before just tossing them out. Officials say you may be able to salvage them. Preservation professionals from the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Heritage Emergency National Task Force will offer advice on how to do that.
Experts will be on hand in coming days at Disaster Recovery Centers in northwest Iowa including one at 903 Central Avenue in Estherville this Saturday (July 27th) from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm, and the Tower Gate Pavilion in Spencer Sunday and Monday, July 28th and 29th, from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm.
Items themselves should NOT be taken to the centers. Instead, it’s recommended you take photographs of them and bring those.
