FEMA: Check Furnaces NOW

August 11, 2024 Steve Schwaller

(Jackson, Mn.)– Officials are urging homeowners to check furnaces NOW, before the heating season starts. They say that’s especially important if you had water in your basement during the June flood. FEMA is in the area and may be able to help replace a furnace that was damaged or destroyed. They say that if you discover your furnace doesn’t work after the weather is already cold, the time to fill out an application for assistance with FEMA may have passed.

Officials say a furnace inspection from a local HVAC expert is a good way to ensure your furnace is in good working order. Some area businesses can assist with that and officials recommend reaching out to them as soon as possible.
