(Jackson, Mn.)– Jackson-based Federated Rural Electric Association has awarded funds to several fire departments in southwest Minnesota.
The Alpha, Ceylon, Lakefield and Northrop Fire Departments will each receive $7,500 to purchase and upgrade equipment.
Federated Rural Electric donated money and utilized matching funds from the CoBank Sharing Success Program and Basin Electric. CoBank is an entity that provides utilities long-term financing for line construction projects. Basin Electric is one of Federated’s wholesale power providers.
Federated REA serves 5,300 members in Jackson and Martin counties.
