Family Crisis Center To Hold Toy Drive Next Week For Children Impacted By Recent Floods

August 02, 2024 Steve Schwaller

(Spirit Lake)– Family Crisis Centers will be holding a toy drive Monday and Tuesday of next week for children impacted by recent flooding in the area. Jessica Rohrs, Executive Director of Family Crisis Centers, says the goal is to provide a moment of joy and hope during this devastating time…

“The people that we serve, we just really see the impacts the floods have had on the children and the family. You know, losing all their items, watching their parents go through the stress of the situation, as well as just the events of the floods being traumatic for them, and wanting to provide them some moment of joy. And we know that if we provide the children moments of joy, those will also provide parents a moment of joy as well. The toy drive is August 5th and 6th and we’re asking for new toys to be donated and those can be dropped off at Revive Consignments in Spirit Lake from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.”

Rohrs says children will have the opportunity receive the new toys at an event to be held at a later date and time, which will be announced soon.
