(Spirit Lake)—The Iowa State University Extension Service is gearing up for a special week-long event designed to promote its programs and services. Next week, March 24th-30th, has been designated ISU Extension and Outreach Week. Special activities have been planned for the Iowa State Campus as well as counties throughout the state, including those in the local cluster of Lyon, Sioux, Osceola, O’Brien and Dickinson. The celebration for Dickinson county is scheduled for Friday, March 29th from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. at the Extension Office in Spirit Lake.
ISU Extension and Outreach delivers through five program areas aligned with Iowa State University, including agriculture and natural resources, the Center for Industrial Research and Service, Community and Economic Development, families and 4-H Youth Development. Every county extension district in Iowa has an elected council that decides how local tax dollars are spent to support ISU Extension and outreach education programs on the county level.
