(Primghar)– An Estherville man is wanted in connection with an assault that took place either late September 12th or early September 13th of this year at an acreage southeast of Hartley.
The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office says a 911 call from a tennant at that property reported 33-year-old Micael Molacek had been assaulted by an unknown person. A sheriff’s deput showed up and was unable to find the victim or suspect.
Upon investigating authorities determined the reporting party provided misleading information as to the true location and condition of Molacek. The reporting party also indicated those involved had left the property and that they were not interested in executing papers.
On September 16th the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office received another call reporting that Molacek had in fact sought medical treatment at an Estherville hospital on September 15th and that he was being transported to a Sioux Falls hospital with a head injury. The victim was released from the hospital September 19th.
Authorities concluded their investigation Thursday with the O’Brien County Attorney’s office filing a warrant for the arrest of the suspect, identified as 38-year-old Robert R. Thompson of Estherville.
