E’Ville Man Arrested On Sexual Abuse Abuse Charge

November 22, 2014

(Estherville)– A report of a sexual assault has resulted in a charge against an Estherville man.

The Estherville Police Department says officers were notified last Sunday (April 10th) of the incident which allegedly took place the day before.

Police say the juvenile victim and her mother reported the victim had received a ride to Estherville from St. James, Minnesota from the suspect, identified as 20-year-old Jesse McIntyre of Estherville.

Upon further investigation, officers learned the victim and McIntyre had allegedly been chatting on the internet for some time, and eventually arrangements were made for McIntyre to get the victim and her friend and drive them to McIntyre’s residence in Estherville, where the alleged sexual assault occurred.

McIntyre was arrested and booked into the Emmet county jail on a charge of sexual abuse in the third degree. He was later released after posting a $13,000 cash or surety bond.

Captain Brent Shatto of the Estherville Police Department says the case should serve as a reminder to parents to monitor their children’s internet and cell phone activity and to be involved with their kids.
