(Spirit Lake)– If a recent event hosted by the Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation is any indicator, the number of young people interested in starting up their own business is continuing to grow.
Kathy Evert, President and CEO of the Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation, says 115 students from area high schools recently participated in a “Be Your Own Boss” seminar the corridor held in Okoboji. The daylong event included speakers, breakout sessions, networking, along with trial sessions and team building.
Evert says they’re greatful to the local schools and the students that participated in the event, adding they’re currently reviewing evaluations from the seminar. She says they’re looking forward to offering it again next year.
