Estherville Man Faces Multiple Charges Following High Speed Pursuit

(Okoboji)– An Estherville man faces multiple charges following a high speed pursuit Tuesday evening on a motorcycle that started in Arnolds Park and went through Okoboji and Spirit Lake before proceeding east on Highway 9 to Estherville. Speeds at times were said to be in excess of 90 mph.

39-year-old Robert Bingen of Estherville was taken into custody by Estherville police a short time after the pursuit. He was transported back to Dickinson county and was booked into jail on multiple charges of eluding, driving while barred, reckless driving, failure to obey a stop sign, failure to provide proof of financial liability, speeding, driving on the wrong side of a two-way highway and overtaking and passing.

Agencies involved in the pursuit included the Arnolds Park, Okoboji, Spirit Lake and Estherville Police Departments and the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office with assistance from the Dickinson County Communications Center.
