(Estherville)– An Estherville man charged earlier this week for an alleged sexual assault involving a 9-year-old girl now faces additional charges.
Estherville police say four additional counts of sexual assault in the 3rd degree were filed Thursday against 56-year-old John Hanson.
Police say the additional charges stem from an interview with Hanson after an additional victim came forward, claiming she was sexually assaulted on several occasions from 2008 to 2011. The victim told officers that Hanson was threatening to have her immigration status altered in the event she reported the incidents.
Hanson remains in the Emmet county jail on an $84,500 bond.
