(Estherville)– No injuries were reported Sunday in a residential fire in Estherville.
Firefighters were called around 3:45 pm to 702 4th Avenue South and found smoke coming from the roof on all sides of the structure. An aerial truck was deployed and firefighters were able to knock down second story ceilings to prevent the fire from spreading, while other crews extinguished the fire in the attic.
It’s believed the cause was electrical in nature, but it remains under investigation.
The American Red Cross assisted eight people were living at that location.
Estherville police, the Emmet County Sheriff’s Office, Wallingford and Gruver Fire Departments, Estherville Ambulance Service and the American Red Cross assisted on the scene.
