(Estherville)—Estherville police say they were very pleased with the response in a drug take back day event held this past Saturday in that community.
Police Chief Eric Milburn says they took in 101 pounds of outdated or no longer used medications, compared to 98 pounds collected in two events last year.
The medicine was packaged for shipment to St. Luis where it will be incinerated.
Officials say they’ll likely hold another event in the fall.
Similar events were held Saturday at other locations throughout the region.
