(Estherville)– The Estherville City Council Monday evening approved the third reading and adopted an ordinance making South 17th Street from 1st Avenue South to 3rd Avenue South a one-way street. The temporary change will be in place during the ELC Stadium Complex project.
The council also signed off on an addendum of a purchase agreement on some property at 3303 Murray Road in Estherville for a new fire station. It’s coming in at a cost of nearly $1.1 million which will come out of the city’s general fund.
In other business, the Estherville City Council also Monday evening schedule a public hearing on plans and specifications and estimate of cost for the Phillips Pavilion project at the old bath house at the site of the former outdoor pool. Plans call for the building to be converted into a shelter house designed for year round usage with a kitchenette, new windows, restrooms, and a pergola area. City Administrator Penny Clayton says the project will be funded entirely through donations and grants along with local option sales tax proceeds…
The vote setting the public hearing was unanimous.
