Clayton adds a power outage that impacted most of Estherville this past Saturday was NOT flood-related.
Clayton says crews have established various interconnects with Iowa Lakes Electric Cooperative to help minimize any future outages, flood-related or not. She says the interconnects not only can provide power to the city, but she says the opposite is true in that the city can provide power to Iowa Lakes Electric Cooperative in the event that system has an outage.
