(Spencer)– Officials with the city of Spencer, Spencer Municipal Utilities, Clay county, Spencer financial institutions and the Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation have announced a new housing initiative in Spencer.
The entities are offering grants of up to $15,000 for purchasers of new mid-range personal residences in the city. Kathy Evert, President and CEO of the Corridor, tells KUOO news the grants will be awarded and administered by the Spencer Area Jobs Trust…Click here to hear mp3 file

Grant commitments will be issued on a first-come, first-serve basis, until funds are exhausted, 40 grants have been committed or until September 1st, 2014, whichever comes first.
