(Emmetsburg)– An Emmetsburg woman was sentenced today (Thurs.) to more than two years in prison on a federal firearms charge. 36-year-old Andrea Crystal Lee pleaded guilty in December of last year to a charge of possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.

Evidence at a sentencing hearing revealed that on January 24th, 2023, Lee was on probation for possession of a controlled substance. During a probation check an officer located methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in Lee’s home. A search warrant was then obtained and executed on the residence resulting in the discovery of a handgun concealed in a floor vent, ammunition, and magazines. As a drug user and felon, Lee was prohibited from possessing firearms and ammunition.

Lee was sentenced to 27 months imprisonment and must serve a 3-year term of supervised release after the prison term.
