(Emmetsburg)– As part of the November 4th election, voters in the Emmetsburg Community School District will decide the fate of a $25 million bond issue for a elementary school that would replace the current West Elementary. District officials say that building is 75-years-old and is crowded and outdated.
They say that if it’s approved, the bond would result in an additional $68 per year in property taxes for a home valued at $100,000.
A similar measure failed last year, falling just short of the needed 60 percent approval.
