Emmetsburg Traffic Stop Results In Drug Charges Against Fort Dodge Woman

November 22, 2014

(Emmetsburg)– A traffic early this (Tuesday) morning in Emmetsburg landed a Fort Dodge woman in jail on drug charges.

The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy pulled over a vehicle around 12:43 a.m. driven by 32-year-old Nicole Owens of Fort Dodge in the area of Huron and Main Street in Emmetsburg.

A subsequent search of the vehicle by the deputy and Palo Alto county K-9 Unit turned up what’s alleged to be drug paraphernalia and methamphetamine.

Owens was arrested and transported to the Palo Alto county jail. While being searched further by jail staff, authorities found what’s alleged to be marijuana on Owens’ belongings.

Owens was booked into jail on charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of marijuana…both serious misdemeanors; possession of drug paraphernalia…a simple misdemeanor; and introducing contraband into a secure jail facility…a class “D” felony.

The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Emmetsburg Police Department.
